Also, I would encourage you to join an Alliance if you have an Eve pilot in corp. They can give you some support from orbit. Legacy Rising would happily accept you - though to be honest we are small (for now) and looking to expand.

Once I have the ideal fitting, I then start looking at secondary skills (like the ones that boost hacking speed, improve scan profile signature, add effectiveness to specific module types, etc)
